Merry Christmas guys! I hope you all have fantastic times this Christmas, and hope all the gifts you send bring joy to those receiving them.
SavyGamer is nearing the end of it's first calander year, and I would like to take this oppertunity to thank every one of you for your support. By purchasing through my links, spreading word of mouth, or just subscribing/reading regularly you are contributing massively to the success this blog has found.
When I first started, I never dreamed I would have as much traffic as I do (somewhere in the region of 400/500 unique hits a day). GAME Wii Bundle update
Nintendo Wii consoles are back in stock in GAME today. As I reported yesterday, the is an exclusive new bundle in GAME stores, the biggest shipment since launch. One store got around 80 console delivered.
The details posted yesterday were not far off, the two bundles are -
Nintnedo Wii Console, Wii Sports, Mario & Sonic Olympics, The Golden Compass - £254.99
and
Nintendo Wii Console, Wii Sports, Mario & Sonic Olympics, Mario Party 8, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 - £289.99
It's a bit of a disappointment that Super Mario Galaxy wasn't included with the bundle, but either one of those should suit most customers. One store reported having more of the higher priced bundle than the cheaper one, and all of the cheaper bundle sold out by 2pm.
Most GAME stores also got an increase in shipments of Wiimotes and Nunchuck controllers, so if you are looking for those for Christmas check out GAME - no luck with Wii Play though, still no stock.
Some stores might still have stock of just the Console and Wii Sports in stock, but it's unlikely, worth an ask. These will still be at RRP of £180.

GAME have just struck a deal with Nintendo for a supply of Wii consoles over Christmas – Exclusive packs which have games included with the hardware, a separate SKU. There is a 2 game and a 3 game bundle price (tentatively) at £250 and £280 respectively. The Games seem to be 1st party, most likely “Mario & Sonic at the Olympics”, “Mario Party 8” and possibly “Super Mario Galaxy”
These bundles will be shipping from Monday, they may be in stock on Monday, or may be in warehouses on Monday, and in stores later in the week. These bundles are totally exclusive to GAME – Nintendo is thanking GAME for their support over the years, and repaying loyality.
The number of Wii shipping has been described as “considerate”, and continuing up to Christmas. Previous shipments have been "small amount".

How to get hold of a Nintendo Wii this Christmas
Christmas is fast appraoching, and demand is still exceeding supply for Nintendo Wii consoles. The Typical eBay price for a Wii console is £250-280, but RRP is still only £180.

Someone I know were looking for a Wii a while back, kept checking Game and HMV but ignoring the other stores, I suggested Woolworths and they got one shortly after. Try going at times when it's less busy if you can.
3. Online
The problem with buying a Wii online is that they will go out of stock almost imediatly after they go up for sale, alot of people out there want one. A great way of getting one is regularly checking stock levels at a stock monitor such as Wiipreorder.co.uk. They often come in stock at retailers who are inflating the price or forcing bundles, but if you check regularly, you might get the console on it's own. I will try to post about any updates I get, but time is of the essence really.
4. Ask friends
A surprisingly large amount of Wii consoles are getting little/no play, I know a few people who got bored of Wii sports a while back, and didn't buy any new games. If you know someone who might be inclined to sell it, but can't be arsed doing the eBay thing, why not make an offer.
5. eBay
If you do decide to go the eBay route, there are a few things you should bear in mind. You will be paying more than RRP, by a fair bit. It might be worth considering waiting til around feb/march when they will (hopefully) be reliably in stock again. You should also look out for consoles that include all the packaging, and an original receipt would be optimal.
