Video games to not buy any time soon

I've just spent far too long scouring D2D's games catalogue for games which will possibly be in their £5 sale over the next few weeks. Essentially, games in the categories listed here which are currently more than £5.

My advice: If you are thinking about getting any of these games any time soon, wait to see if they are in the D2D sale, as you will be able to get them for a fiver. I thought I'd do my bit to prevent you buying a game now when it is possibly going to be much cheaper in the near future.

Cool,

Here's hoping V:tMasquerade is offered for a fiver. I love that game, but £20 is rather a lot for a game that I originally bought at retail (and subsequently lost :(.

Thanks for the heads up LP!

Not related to the D2D sale, but still a game to not buy: UT3 / other unreal games.

Shacknews says they're going to be on sale on Steam over the weekend for 66% off of UT3, 66% off of the Unreal bundle, or $2 for UT. So that should be $6.80 for UT3 and $13.60 for all the Unreal games, in USD.

The retail VTM wasn't a steam game? I avoided it back when it was actually available in a box because I assumed that Source engine == Steam required. Oh well, Steam helpfully had a sale on it a couple of weeks after I finally got broadband, the lack of which had been the reason I was avoiding Steam.

Cheers for the heads up regarding the Unreal stuff on Steam.

And no, VTM did not require steam at all, although that is an easy assumption to make, since lots of Source Engine games are like that (The Ship, Dark Messiah, as well as all Valve retail releases).

Huh, Shacknews seem to have the numbers wrong. Everyone else says it's 60% off, not 66%, which works out to a dollar or two more.

Oh, Dark Messiah -- I should have thought of that! I was surprised when I installed a bargain bin copy that it didn't require Steam at all for the single player. I think the multiplayer component did require registering it with steam, but either way I entered the number for both into steam because the latest patches seemed to have been pushed out on Steam only.
